Terry's favourite charter is the wine tour, but rest assured he leaves the sampling to the guests. Terry has been with Kanga for 5 years now and he has been driving since 1979! You will find Terry enjoying a good game of ten pin bowling and or table tennis during his spare time. Favourite bus; number 88, (better known as the Shapelle) Terry is great for a laugh, make sure you listen out for his beloved bagpipe music which he plays post jobs.
Justin's favourite bus is the Superdeck, he calls it his 'truck'. Justin has been driving buses for 16 years. The Melbourne and Sydney tours are Justin's favourite tours and has fun memories of trying to negotiate flooded roads whilst crossing the outback. Justin has driven most roads in Australia and has a story to tell about most of them too! Justin drove coaches in Sydney during the Olympics and has many a story to tell. Don't forget to ask him how his beloved Carlton FC team are travelling, he may be quick to change the subject!!
Jules is the Managing Director of Kanga Coachlines - but don't let that fool you. Jules likes nothing more than driving his favourite bus - the Kaboom Party Bus. Jules funny experience when driving on a wine tour, "we were told to go across a paddock when the inevitable happened and the bus got bogged "I had to get the bus full of 'A list personalities' to get out to help push!". Jules is commonly called a 'bus geek', but don't let that deter you, he still knows how to get the KaBOOM bus cranking.
John enjoys the day field trips and has been driving buses since 1972! John has been with Kanga for 4 years and his favourite bus is number 14. When John is not working he likes to go swimming, play golf and has been known to pick up the odd paint brush and do some water colour from time to time. Maybe John hopes to enter the Archibald prize one year.
Jeff is the Operations Manager and has been with for Kanga for just over a year but has a collective driving experience of 16 years, so you're in safe hands. Jeff loves the long overland driving and has also had a run in with an inland sea (2 feet of water) but luckily for us he survived. Fav bus number is 44 (Superdeck) , although he doesn't get to drive it much – even though he does the rostering!!! You never know, he might invite you to one of his famous dinner parties.
Rex is the financial controller and has been with Kanga for 2 years. His fave bus is the Kaboom party bus. (strange for an accountant we know) Rex enjoys wood work and motorcycling, with his pride and joy a Honda Valkyrie. Unfortunately, Rex is better off suited behind the desk at Kanga and can not be selected to drive the bus (special permission may be granted if you would like Rex as a KaBOOM Host!!! hehehehe). Don't ask for Rex on a Thursday, he is too busy doing our wages!!!
Matt is Head Mechanic and doesn't have a favourite bus per se, he gets to work on all of them! He claims to especially love the ones that “drive him crazy”! Matt has been the resident Kanga mechanic for 10 years. Matt has more 'projects' on the go than a year 8 Science class. There is always a new 'toy' arriving or something which needs to be fixed so Matt is never short of anything to do. Unfortunately you can't choose Matt to drive for you, although if he can, he prefers the passenger seat.
Ken enjoys going out on the Flinders Ranges tours and prefers bus number 44 (Superdeck). Ken has 18 years driving experience with Kanga and is one of the longest serving drivers with the company. He has been known to enjoy a pose for a photo on a hens day tour, just don't ask to see any of them! During his spare time Ken likes to travel (by plane) and work on his large range of Mini's – which one will he drive this week?
Gerry has been driving buses for 8 ½ years and has been with Kanga for 2 ½ of those years. His favourite of the buses are the large coaches, he will drive one anywhere! During his spare time Gerry enjoys caravanning and 4 wheel driving in the outback, listening to country music and gardening. You should see his petunias! Gerry experienced a wonderful and interesting time whilst in Canberra with a school group – it is a story reserved for only the best campfire!!
Meth has been driving for Kanga for just over 3 years. You will never see Meth without a smile on his face, he loves life!! Meth recalls a funny story on one of the trips back from the Balaklava Races “on Mallala Road and one of the ladies in the bus needed to go to the toilet so Meth had to suddenly pull over on the side of the road and watch as the poor passenger had to go to the cheers of horns and shouts from passing buses. Meth would love to own a Ferrari one day – a few more days behind the wheel of a bus and you never know!!
Originally from London, it only makes sense that his fave bus is a London double decker. Paul has been driving buses for 14 years and has been with Kanga for 18 months. During his spare time he likes to shop and sleep! Really? A man that likes to shop? Be sure you ask for some shopping tips on your next tour. Paul is a connoisseur of fine Barley Sugars – Simpkins being his fave!!! Paul is also a mad keen drummer and has played in many bands around town – just don't take your hands of the wheel for some 'air drumming' Paul!!!
Roger (aka Leethal) has been driving with Kanga for 3 years and has been driving buses for 17 years overall. His favourite bus of the Kanga fleet is 85 – she's hot he says!! OK, moving right on – During Roger's spare time he likes to tend to the family duties - keeping up with the grandchildren, and enjoying movies/dinners with his partner. Don't forget to ask him how they met on your next tour? Roger loves the Port Adelaide Footy club and is often seen wearing a maggies scarf on those cold winter mornings!
Alan has had an interesting 2 ½ years driving buses, one of those experiences was having a fight break out in the back of his bus while he was doing a Barossa Valley trip, Being the responsible driver Alan is, he left them fighting on the side of the road! (fortunately this wasn't when he was with Kanga). Alan likes all the buses, but he would probably choose the Hino as his favourite. During his spare time he is learning to be a silversmith and opal polisher. Wow what's that? Look out for Alan on his silver scooter (only when it's not too cold), he is the one with the red helmet!!!!
Tony has been with Kanga for 7 months but has been driving buses for 10 years all up. Tony doesn't have a favourite bus from the Kanga fleet but during his spare time he enjoys cycling, walking and cooking.
Lou is happy with Kanga, he say's he enjoys everyday and every job! He loves being around people. Rosa and Coaster buses are the ones Lou would much rather drive. Lou has been with Kanga for 4-5years and overall has been driving for 9-10 years. On his days off Lou will be out ten pin bowling, fishing and playing golf.
Caterina is the 'Mumma Hen' of the team. She has been with Kanga from the start, but don’t let that make you think she is old or past it. Caterina loves doing yoga and going for walks on the beach. After many years at Kanga, Rina now runs a successful Country Cafe and Market too – wow, what energy!!! This is very handy as Rina is often seen bringing in food and cakes for the hungry team at Kanga! Thanks Rina!!!!!!!!!
Although Ashleigh doesn't drive any of the buses, her fave is the Kaboom party bus. Ashleigh is new to the team, but has brought with her wonderful enthusiasm and creative experience from years of study! During her free time she likes to spend time at the shack along the river water skiing, relaxing with family and friends, shopping, socialising and watching the footy. Cárn the Power!! Sorry guys Ashleigh is not available to drive the buses.
Samantha has been with Kanga for 2 ½ years and although she doesn't drive buses she likes the Kaboom party bus. During her days off Sam is out keeping fit - hiking and basketball, going to the gym and going out with friends – Sam is also not available to drive the buses.
Peter has been with Kanga for 4 ½ years, his favourite coach is the ‘Superdeck’ One of Pete’s most remembered experiences was when his passengers were playing pass the parcel on the bus and insisted that Peter join in. When the parcel stoped and he opened it – it was a woman's toy!! Hmm... On his time off Peter likes to travel overseas or go caravanning within Australia, gardening and hanging out with his kids and grandkids.
Greg has been driving buses since 1982, and has been with Kanga for 6 months. This may explain why he doesn’t have a favourite, yet – he says “they’re all great to drive”. His most fond memory is coming back from a wine tour and all the passengers started singing, “it was a good end to a fantastic day”!! Greg enjoys cycling and listening to music, he also does some acting as an extra in movies TV commercials!
